ABOUT US

Sleepy Hollow Bikes was founded in the 1970’s during the first big North American “Bike Boom”. During the 80’s triplet bike racers Rob, John, and Charles Whalen rode north from the Bronx and discovered how great the store and town were. The brothers all worked at Sleepy Hollow Bikes as teens, eventually buying the business and giving the store a reputation as a great place for performance and recreational cyclists alike. Road race history and Sleepy Hollow lore inspired the growth of Sleepy Hollow’s local cycling community and continue to be defining features of the store.

Current owner and operator Travis Torsky has partnered with the Whalens to continue to provide professional service for all cyclists through one-on-one fittings, tune-ups, training advice, and sales consultations. With a lifetime of competitive cycling experience and over a decade of experience running successful bicycle retailers, Travis can offer non-biased, realistic advice to make your riding experience more rewarding.

FAQs

Why are you closed on weekends?

We are a newly re-launched business and building slowly. Thank you for your flexibility as we grow! We know that you would like to be out riding your bike on a Saturday rather than picking it up from a shop—so we’ll always make sure to have things ready to go before the weekend.

Do I need an appointment?

Technically, no. But it helps. We have limited staff, so booking an appointment is the best way to ensure you don’t wait for service. We prioritize appointments for service over walk-ins.
